Peritas were engaged to design three complex shade structures and surrounding terraces within Kings Park. On the Community Pavillions, a very high level of architectural detailing gave the main support column the appearance of a wind swept tree, with the roof supported off the branches. In order to achieve the large cantilevers within the low profile of the roof with the minimal support, Peritas used a stressed skin roof structure. This approach was also used on the Wildflower Pavilion, a hexagonal roofed structure approximately 14m across supported on only 3 columns.
